Spain

Spain, due to its geographical location and socioeconomic characteristics, faces significant risks derived from climate change. It has a relatively low population density, therefore land competition is not as high as in other European countries. Key sectors in the Spanish economy, such as agriculture, forestry, tourism, and transport, depend closely on the climate. As a country vulnerable to climate change, the policy framework emphasizes climate change adaptation and mitigation. The LMTs studied in Spain are agroforestry, grassland management, forest management and afforestation/reforestation.
