Indonesia is a large tropical archipelago. Despite being highly populated, forests cover 65% of Indonesia's total area. Forestry and land use are the main contributors to Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in Indonesia. Overall, BECCS/U technologies in Indonesia has not been implemented, while some negative emission practices have been developed, especially in the forestry, agriculture, and waste sectors. The LMTs studied in Indonesia are forest management, agriculture optimisation and agroforestry, peatland management and soil carbon enhancement.
